My products

Hi I’m Bids and I’m a recovering product junkie.

Yes, I’ve got quite a few products in my stash but I’ve managed to cull a few and whittle them down to the ones I’ve gotten the best results from. But I’m always open to trying something new…I’m getting help for the product junkie-ism!

Shampoos

Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo
Boots Fruit Essence Moisture Repair Shampoo (review to follow)

Now I know most naturals say just co-wash and eliminate shampoos from your regimen, but all that did for me was give me an incredibly itchy scalp and the worst case of product buildup. So nope not sold on the co-washing forever, no shampoo regimen.

Love the Tresemme Naturals shampoo, doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped and straw like but does clean my scalp and do the job. Me likey.

The Boots shampoo – well I don’t even know if it should be included in “The Products” because I haven’t used it yet, but hey ho here it is. A review will follow soon on it.

Conditioners (possibly my favourite hair products)

Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration (although not included in the pic above because I ran out)
Boots Fruit Essence Moisture Repair Conditioner (review to follow)

I love when I find a new hair conditioner and its amazing on my hair. All of the above apart from
Boots conditioner work magnificently on Grace and she loves them. Again with the Boots condish, haven’t tried it yet, but I really hope Grace likes it and a review will follow soon on it.

Leave-ins/detanglers

Kinky Curly Knot Today
Curls Curl Creme Brule
SheaMoisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioning Curl & Style Milk

I think my favourite of these is the KCKT but I like the other two very much as well. I use the KCKT when I am doing twists for a twistout, whereas I use the other two for puffs, mini twists and other styles.

Cremes

Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream
SheaMoisture Organi Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Now I love both these products for different styles. I use the CES for minitwists and puffs but I’ll use the CCC when I want a more defined look e.g. for twistouts etc. Both are amazing products, can’t get enough of them!

Stylers

Giovanni Hair Styling Foam
Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer

Both are new products which I have not tried yet, but I want to try my hand at a wash-and-go so a review will follow on both soon.

Oils

Amla Oil
Castor Oil
Coconut Oil (Vatika)
Argan Oil

Love all the above but sadly I’m trying to wean myself off the Amla and the Vatika oils because of the colour in my hair as they both (but in particular the Amla oil) have the effect of darkening one’s hair following long-term use. I like my highlights, finally rescued my hair from my mad henna experience (I’ll share about that soon) so I don’t want to do anything to damage or lose them. So its goodbye Amla and Vatika once they’re finished. But they are both awesome products.

Spritzes

SheaMoisture Yucca & Baobab Thickening Moisture Mist
SheaMoisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist

Love both of these – great for adding moisture just before bedtime and when I get up in the morning.

So those are my products…for now. I am going to America in a couple of weeks, so I might have a whole new haul to review and report on. Watch this space!
