Following my Best of 2019 Skincare and Makeup post, I’m sharing my 2019 faves in hair, bath and body. For reference purposes, my hair texture is 4C – very kinky, coily and coarse whilst my skin (body) is generally very dry especially in the winter. So for both, I am always looking for products that will super moisturising. It’s been a while since I’ve done a hair regimen post but I will aim to share my updated routine soon together with a body/bath routine.
As with the last post, the following is only my opinion based on my experience with these products in respect of my hair and skin texture and condition. Everyone’s experience is different and I am not a qualified professional so if you have had a different experience, that’s completely fine. Also where I say I will repurchase a product, that will be once I finished the products I am currently using, I am definitely not trying to go back to my hoarding tendencies! Leggo!
HAIR
- Kinky Curly Knot Today – an oldie but a goodie and faithful leave in conditioner. Really like this!
- Mane ‘n’ Tail Hair Strengthener – the name is quite deceiving but it’s actually a moisture spritz which I find very useful to refresh and moisturise my hair. Definitely buying again!
- The Afro Hair & Skincare “Bloom” Hair Oil – I loved this oil, it gave my hair shine and sheen without leaving it greasy.
- Hollywood Beauty Carrot Cholesterol Deep Conditioning Creme – Nice DC. Not necessarily one that I will be reinvesting in but nice enough.
- Elasta QP DPR 11 – I loved this as a deep conditioner especially mixed with Amla oil. I’ve since discovered new faves but this could be repurchased in the future.
BATH
- Dove Silk Glow Body Wash – Gotta love this shower creme. Does the job and really did leave my skin feeling very smooth and silky.
- Radox Feel Exotic Lychee & Watermelon Showergel – My fave for life. I will buy any Radox shower gel for all my life. I love trying out their new or limited edition shower gels and this was no different.
- Radox Feel Detox Bath Soak Acai Berry & Clay – I need not say more about my love of all things Radox. A hack for you though – buy bath creams or bath soaks in this case and you get so much more product for your buck to use as a shower gel!
- Sanex Dermo Natural Shower Gel – This was my first time where I was trying to use a “cleaner” beauty product and I did really like it.
BODY
- Dove Nourishing Lotion – an oldie but a goodie. A staple in my body care arsenal.
- Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion – I’ve raved about this before and repurchased. Nuff said!
- E45 Evening Primrose Rich Lotion – I absolutely love this lotion, it keeps my skin moisturised through these dark dry and cold winter months. Fave for life now
- Hugo Boss Xx – a very nice pleasant scent that I enjoyed wearing.
- Guerlain Idylle – my signature scent, the love continues (and I’ve restocked!)
- The Ordinary Moroccan Argan Oil – applying this straight after a shower in the evenings was just heavenly.
- The Afro Hair & Skincare “Awaken” Body Treatment Oil – see what I said about the The Ordinary Argan Oil above
- Garnier Ambre Solaire SPF 30 – My new go-to moisturiser for holidays and summer living! Fan!
