20 self care practices to implement now!

I recently read this article on self-care practices to implement in 2020 and it got me thinking on what self-care practices I needed to implement in my life. I’ve just shared my Intentions for 2020 and in the same spirit, inspired by the article, I came up with my own 20 strong list. Here’s what I came up with:

  1. Dance everyday for at least 10 minutes
  2. Pray at least twice daily – in the morning when I wake up to say thank you to Jesus for the gift of life and the day ahead and in the evening before I go to sleep to say thank you to Jesus for the gift of life and the day just gone 
  3. Read my Bible and devotional daily
  4. Exercise at least once a week
  5. Talk to a member of my family once a week
  6. Brunch regularly
  7. Read for 30 minutes a day
  8. Take an annual solo vacation
  9. Purge my wardrobe
  10. Not replace the items purged (unless absolutely necessary!)
  11. Create content without pressure or anxiety
  12. Wash my hair weekly
  13. Tell my loved ones I love them regularly
  14. Use breathing exercises when I feel anxious
  15. Host my friends 
  16. Create a life budget and stick to it!
  17. Drink water (ugh!) and eat my fruits and veggies
  18. Use a facial mask at least once weekly
  19. Sleep for at least 6 hours unbroken
  20. Have a good laugh at least once a day – talking to my sister usually takes care of that
